Queen palm

Updated 2026-10-27. A definition from the crew, not a bid.

A queen palm is trimmed on the same rule as a sabal. The page is palm trimming. Dead, yellow, or hanging fronds and seed pods come off. The green head stays. Queens do not have a branch structure to thin like a live oak. Over-trimming them to a tuft is a hurricane cut. It stresses the bud. We will not sell it as storm prep, and storm season does not change the sentence.

Queens show up in the gallery as new plantings in a mulch bed. Mulch stays on the soil, off the trunk. A tall queen over a roof is access and rigging. It takes longer than a sabal you can reach from the ground. Four queens over a roof are four access problems, not one lump called the landscaping. A queen in a mulch bed is still a palm trim when the head is what you called about, not a bed refresh with a tree price glued on.

What it looks like here

A queen that needs work has a skirt of dead fronds and a head that is still green. Seed pods over a walk or a roof get taken. Green fronds that brush a wall do not get stripped to fix a planting that was put too close. That palm either keeps its head or it gets an honest removal quote. We will not meet in the middle with a hurricane cut and call it a compromise.

Boots, the old leaf bases, are a separate question. This site does not advertise boot shaving. A smooth trunk in someone else's photo is not our scope. Ask on that tree. If the crown is brown and the bud is dead, it is a removal, with the stump choice removal always has. Grinding is an add-on. There is no stump price on the site.

What we do with it

We price the palm in front of us. Oak bands are context so you do not invent a number, not a coupon per queen. Haul-away of the skirt is part of a normal trim. A row of volunteers in a fence line is removal and haul-off, quoted as that. We do not clear a utility's wires. If a frond is in the power line, that is the utility.

Send a photo of the whole head and of whatever roof or walk is under it. We will say trim or removal before we are in the tree. The rule is palm trimming.
