What lawn mowing costs in North Port

Updated 2026-10-27. Ranges on this site are not bids.

Lawn mowing for a residential lot in this area usually runs $35–$75 per visit on a recurring schedule. The low end fits a small, flat, open lot on weekly service. The high end fits a larger lot, dense or fast-growing turf, a biweekly cut, or a yard with slopes, trees, and beds that slow the crew down. That is a range, not a bid.

We do not bill a normal yard by the hour. A visit that truly takes about three hours is a large or rough lot, and that price comes from looking at it, not from multiplying a clock. Acreage, including the properties out toward Myakka City, is outside the $35–$75 band entirely. That drive and that lot size are covered in the acreage mowing guide.

Lot, slope, and how often we come

Square footage is the start, not the whole price. A flat front yard with a clear fence line mows faster than the same square footage broken up by beds, a slope to a canal, and trees the mower has to weave through. Edging, trimming around posts and mailboxes, and blowing the clippings off the walks are part of the visit. They take longer when the edges are long.

Weekly versus biweekly changes the visit, not just the calendar. From roughly May through September, St. Augustine and Bahia can put on enough height in five or six days that a biweekly cut is a hay field by the second week. Those clippings are too long to break down, so the visit itself is heavier. In late fall and winter, growth slows and a lot of yards move to biweekly, or even a monthly check in the coolest stretch. A weekly summer route and a biweekly winter route are both normal. Which one your grass needs is in the weekly or biweekly guide.

Grass type changes the cut, and a wrong height makes the next visits harder. St. Augustine wants about 3.5 to 4 inches. Scalping it opens weeds in this sand. Bahia can take a slightly lower cut but seeds out if it is left. Zoysia is shorter and slower. The deck height is set to what is actually growing. The mowing height guide is the detail. We flag weeds and thin spots when we see them. We do not sell a spray program.

A month of visits, still inside the same band

A weekly summer route is about four visits in a month. Four times $35 is $140. Four times $75 is $300. That is only the published band multiplied by a normal wet-season calendar, and it is not an invoice. A biweekly summer schedule is fewer trips and often a heavier trip, because the grass is longer and the clippings are a problem. Across May through September, the weekly visit is the one that matches St. Augustine and Bahia. In the cool months the same yard may drop to two visits, or one, and the per-visit number does not automatically fall to the bottom of the band if the lot is large or broken up by beds.

What pushes a house toward $75 is visible from the driveway once you know to look. A slope to a canal, a ring of beds, fruit trees, a mailbox row, and a fenced side yard all slow the mower and add string trimming. A flat open rectangle does not. We do not add a rain fee for a normal shower. If the yard would rut, we come back on a dry day rather than charging you for a second pass over damage we caused. We also do not publish a drive surcharge. Myakka City and other acreage are simply outside this band, quoted from the property, because an hour on State Road 70 is not a North Port cul-de-sac. Hedges, if they are on the same day, are their own range. They are not silently included in the mow.

Edging time is the quiet half of the visit. A lot with a long driveway, a circular walk, and beds on both sides can take as long to edge and blow off as it does to mow. That lot belongs toward the high end even when the grass area is modest. A wide open lawn with one straight sidewalk belongs toward the low end if it is on a weekly summer route. Biweekly pricing is not a punishment. It is the extra length. If you want the low end, the conditions are the ones already published: small, flat, open, weekly. If that is not your yard, the quote will say so without apology, and it will still sit inside $35–$75 unless the property is acreage.

What the quote is based on

Sage walks the lot, or measures it from what you send, and looks at grass type, size, obstacles, and whether the schedule should be weekly or biweekly for the season you are in. The first visit sets the baseline: height, edging, trim, and cleanup. After that, the same crew stays on the schedule and the visit gets adjusted when summer growth speeds up or winter growth stops.

If the ground is standing in water, we reschedule instead of cutting ruts. That does not add a fee on paper. It just means the visit waits for a dry window. The number you approve before the route starts is the number for that yard. To get it, use lawn mowing.

Frequently asked

What is the average price for lawn care in North Port?

Most residential visits run $35–$75. Small, flat lots on a weekly schedule sit at the low end. Larger lots, slopes, and biweekly cuts sit higher. Acreage is quoted from the visit and is not inside that band.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. A normal residential visit is $35–$75. A yard that takes around three hours is a large or rough lot, and the price comes from looking at it.

Is biweekly cheaper than weekly?

Each biweekly visit is often higher because the grass is longer and the crew removes more at once. Across a summer, weekly service is what keeps St. Augustine and Bahia from getting away. Winter is when many yards stretch to biweekly.

Does the price include edging and blow-off?

Yes. A visit is the cut at the right height, edging along drives and beds, trimming around fences and posts, and blowing clippings off so they are not tracked inside.
